Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of ShariahLab.io (the “Platform”, “Service”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By accessing, registering, purchasing credits, or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the Platform immediately.
Nature of the Service
ShariahLab.io provides an AI-assisted research and knowledge support platform designed to assist users in Islamic finance and Shariah-related research.
- All outputs are generated through automated systems based on curated datasets.
- The Platform does not provide legal, Shariah rulings (fatwa), regulatory approval, or professional advice.
- Users remain solely responsible for verifying, interpreting, and applying any output generated.
Use of the Platform does not create any advisor-client, scholar-client, fiduciary, or professional relationship.
User Eligibility & Responsibilities
By using the Platform, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years old, or legally permitted to enter binding contracts.
- You will use the Platform lawfully and ethically.
- You will not rely solely on AI-generated outputs for final decisions without independent verification.
You agree not to:
- misuse the Platform,
- attempt to reverse engineer or exploit the system,
- submit unlawful, misleading, or malicious prompts,
- or use outputs in a manner that may cause harm, misrepresentation, or reputational damage.
Credit-Based Usage Model
- ShariahLab grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to access and use the Services strictly in accordance with these Terms.

Credit Definition
Access to the Platform operates on a credit-based system.

1 credit = up to 3,500 tokens, inclusive of:
- input prompt tokens, and

output response tokens,
within a single conversation session.

Token Consumption Rules
- If total token usage within one conversation exceeds 3,500 tokens, the system will automatically deduct additional credits.
- Token usage may be consumed by either input or output, or a combination of both.
Simulation Examples

Example 1:
Input: 2,000 tokens
Output: 2,500 tokens
Total: 4,500 tokens → 1 credit used

Example 2:
Input: 3,000 tokens
Output: 3,500 tokens
Total: 6,500 tokens → 2 credits used

Example 3:
Input alone exceeds 3,500 tokens → 2 credits used, even if output is minimal.
Token calculations are determined solely by the Platform’s internal system and are final and non-disputable.
Payments & Billing
- All payments are processed through third-party payment gateways.
- We do not store, process, or have access to your credit card or banking details.
- Prices, credit values, and token allocations are subject to change without prior notice.
You are responsible for ensuring sufficient credits are available before initiating usage.
Refund Policy

General Rule (No Refund)
- All credit purchases are final and non-refundable, once successfully completed.

No refund shall be entertained for:
- unused credits,
- partially used credits,
- mistaken purchases,
- dissatisfaction with AI outputs,
- or changes in personal circumstances.

Platform Operation & Credit Validity
- Credits are valid only while the Platform remains operational.
- All unused credits shall be deemed expired and forfeited immediately upon permanent cessation of the Platform’s operations, subject to Clause 5.3 below.

Limited Refund Exception (Upon Platform Termination)
In the event of permanent Platform shutdown:
- Users with a remaining credit balance equivalent to more than RM50 may submit a refund request.

Refund eligibility is subject to:
- verification of account ownership,
- compliance with all Terms,
- submission within the specified refund window,
- and successful completion of all required refund procedures.
Refunds are not automatic and will be processed at our sole discretion.
Administrative fees or deductions may apply.
No Guarantee of Availability or Accuracy
We do not guarantee that:
- the Platform will be uninterrupted,
- outputs will always be accurate, complete, or current,
- or that errors, omissions, or system downtime will not occur.
We reserve the right to:
- modify,
- suspend,
- or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time without liability.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:

We shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from:
- reliance on AI-generated outputs,
- incorrect interpretation of information,
- loss of profits, data, reputation, or opportunities,
- or Platform downtime or termination.
Your use of the Platform is entirely at your own risk.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ShariahLab.io, its founders, operators, affiliates, and partners from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from:
- your use or misuse of the Platform,
- your reliance on outputs,
- or your violation of these Terms.
Intellectual Property
All content, systems, datasets, prompts architecture, and outputs are protected by intellectual property laws.
- You may use outputs for personal or internal professional reference only.
- Redistribution, resale, or publication without permission is prohibited.
Privacy & Data Protection
Personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Malaysia).
Amendments to Terms
We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time.
Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia.
Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.
